Does any of this sound familiar?
You left the IEP meeting confused about what you actually agreed to.
You're not sure the goals in the IEP are specific enough to be meaningful.
The services listed feel thin but you don't know how to push back.
Something about the IEP doesn't sit right — but you can't put your finger on what.
You want to know your rights before the next meeting.
Here's exactly what you get.
✓ Full IEP compliance review against IDEA §300 requirements ✓ Prior Written Notice review if applicable ✓ Written findings report — every item rated Compliant, Concern, or Violation ✓ Plain-language explanation of what each finding means for your child ✓ Specific next steps and language for your next meeting ✓ 20–30 minute follow-up call with Kristina
Delivered in 5–7 business days.
This review is for you if…
✓ Your child has an IEP and it has never been independently reviewed
✓ Something in the IEP has felt off and you couldn't explain why
✓ You have an IEP meeting coming up and want to walk in prepared
✓ You want to know if your child is receiving everything they're legally entitled to
✓ You've been told the IEP is fine — but you want a second opinion
You're not supposed to be an expert in special education law.
You're supposed to be your child's parent. The IEP process is complicated by design. The meetings are fast. The documents are dense. And you're often the only person in that room who isn't a professional.
That's not a fair fight. EmpowerED exists to level that playing field.
I'm Kristina.
Founder of EmpowerED Advocacy and Consulting. Board-Certified Special Education Advocate · M.S., Curriculum & Instruction · K–12 Reading Specialist · Board-Certified in IEP Development (BCIEP).
I review IEPs because I've seen what happens when parents sign off on documents they don't fully understand. Vague goals. Thin services. Rights that were never explained.
You deserve better than that. So does your child.
Questions? Here are the ones I hear most.
How long does the review take? 5–7 business days from the time I receive your IEP and completed intake form.
What do I need to send you? Just your child's current IEP. Related documents like PWNs or evaluation reports are welcome but not required.
What if I have an IEP meeting coming up soon? Book now and note your meeting date in the intake form. I'll do my best to prioritize your review. If your meeting is within 5 days, message me directly before booking.
How is this different from hiring a lawyer? I'm an advocate, not an attorney. I provide expert review, plain-language findings, and specific advocacy guidance. For legal proceedings like due process, you would need a special education attorney.
What happens after I receive my report? We get on a 20–30 minute call together and I walk you through everything. You leave the call knowing exactly what's in the IEP, what concerns to raise, and what language to use.
